What We Do
Our Takoda (Dakota for “Friend to All”) programming addresses educational disparities on four fronts: training, career coaching, adult education and an alternative high school.

About
Takoda’s no-cost Adult Basic Education program provides students with group instruction and individual tutoring so they can obtain a GED or brush up on core subjects before pursuing a new career or entering higher education. With a 5:1 student-to-instructor ratio, students attending Takoda’s ABE program will appreciate the small class size and personalized approach to learning.
Individuals over age 17 and not currently enrolled in high school are eligible to attend Takoda’s ABE/GED program. Group instruction in math, reading, writing, and typing is provided. Students can also access:
- Accuplacer college prep and testing preparation
- Math and literacy improvement
- Career counseling and job search support
- Life skills
- Health and lifestyle sessions
- Book groups
- Onsite GED testing
