What We Do
Our Takoda (Dakota for “Friend to All”) programming addresses educational disparities on four fronts: training, career coaching, adult education and an alternative high school.


About
The Takoda Institute of Higher Education is a licensed career school that offers students industry-specific vocational training in occupations with a need for skilled workers. Education programs last from three weeks to six months and career counselors help students find employment in their field of study as they approach their graduation.
No-Cost Career Education
Through generous public and private grants and scholarships, almost all Takoda students attend the school at no-cost. To learn more or get started, submit the form below.
Program Areas
Information Sessions
Information Sessions are designed for individuals looking to learn more about Takoda, our services, and how to get started in an education or employment program. This does not confirm enrollment. Attendees will receive an overview of our programs and our staff will help you get started with the enrollment process.
In-person information sessions take place on Wednesday mornings from 9:45 am–11 am. Participants can choose to attend virtually via Zoom at 11 am.
If attending in-person, bring two forms of identification, like a social security card, state ID, or tribal ID.
*Action required: Enrollment must be finalized at least two weeks prior to the start date.
In-Person Schedule
9:45 am – 10 am – Check-in with two forms of current identification
10 am – 11:00 am – Information Session – Sessions lock 10 minutes after the start time.
Thursday & Fridays 10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Applications & Assessments.
